Saucony Hampshire 10k, Monday May 6th, Portsmouth.

Report from Sid Delara

Nice sunny day. A flat 2 lap course, starting and finishing on the Portsmouth Mountbatten Centre Athletics track. With a start requiring a double circuit of the  track it meant not being able to dictate one’s own pace until leaving the stadium as found myself penned in behind other runners on a different start pace, so got to 1km mark about 25 seconds slower than expected. I then spent the rest of the run covering the kilometres at about the same speed as a number of runners in front of me without ever being able to close the gap but  managed a season’s best time to add to a season’s best parkrun 5k on the Saturday so, moving in right direction.
