Training with Vegan Runners
Vegan Runners UK is a running club made up of runners of all abilities and goals. Most club’s meet-ups and runs are organized by local contacts and are happening weekly all over the UK and beyond. If you would like to get more information about meet-ups in your area, please check the In Your Area – Vegan Runners UK section. Please familiarise yourself with the club’s Training Disclaimer and club’s Photo and Video Disclaimer prior to attending the club’s runs
Becoming Run Leader or Running Coach with England Athletics
As a running club, we would like to offer our members professional, high-quality, and consistent running sessions all over the UK. For this reason, the club is able to financially support those who are interested in gaining Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) or Coaching in Running Fitness (CiRF) qualifications with England Athletics.
To be considered for the LiRF or CiRF funding, the member has to have:
- active Vegan Runners membership
- active England Athletics membership
- have ‘Vegan Runners UK’ listed as their first claim club with England Athletics
- submit online a monthly report on the progress to Training Secretary for the first 4 months after gaining a qualification
To be considered for the funding, please fill out the Funding Request Form and send it to your regional representative or to the Training Secretary directly at: training.secretary@veganrunners.org.uk
All funding applications are reviewed by the committee and the decision to proceed or not is made by voting. The applicant is informed via email after 5 days about the outcome of their application. If the funding request is successful, the applicant has to agree and sign Training Secretary’s Agreement form prior to booking the course
All our qualified run leaders and coaches hold a clear DBS. DBS check is arranged via England Athletics on the applicant’s behalf prior to the completion of the course.
To initiate your DBS check, log in to the MyAthletics portal, then click on My Profile in the top right of the page and you will see a link in the personal details section to Apply/Renew your DBS. The club will then receive your application and approve its processing. Once the DBS check is complete, you will receive the paper form via mail and your DBS status will also show on your EA profile.
More about safeguarding and DBS checks with England Athletics can be found here.
