Parkrun report 13th of May 2023

The 13th may be considered unlucky by some but for Vegan Runners numbers soared again for parkrun attendance on 13th May with 782 taking part compared to 729 last week! We repped at 353 parkrun locations. 73 of us volunteered and 709 grabbed a parkrun finish token – read on to find out if you feature in this week’s report.

Lots of Vegan Runner meet ups took place this week the largest of which were at Hastings (11), Harleston Magpies (10), Blaise Castle (9). Thames Path – which is a brand-new location in its 2nd event had eight Vegan Runners as did Ashton Court, Swansea Bay and Beckenham Place. Rushmoor, Southampton and Worcester hosted seven Vegan Runners and Bognor Regis, Dartford Heath, Folkestone, Ganger Farm and Scunthorpe had six VRs repping.

Sixteen first places were bagged by Vegan Runners on this thirteenth day of May – more first places than any other club – proving that a vegan diet is the optimal way to fuel top running performance. Congratulations to Andy Gardiner, Philip Nind, Ben Parmar, Matthew Rhodes, Matthew Timms, Andrew Millis, Matthias May, Thomas Almond, Darren Comeau, Matthew Wheat, Gareth Pritchard, Michael Slack, Matt Stephens, Pawel Pasko, Harley Team Vegan (Australia) and Matt Edmonds.

Congratulations to the seven first ladies this week with superb times from Catherine Allen, Laura Pettitt, Marti Spence, Rebecca Lait, Jenny Katsoni, Kate Telford and Caroline McAleese. Plant power.

 

Top age graded on this mid-May morning for ten Vegan Runners – which again is more than any other running club – Margaret Pritchard, Caroline McAleese, Matthias May, Gary Farquharson, Philip Nind, Stephen Boyton, Michael Slack, Gareth Pritchard and James Thompson – brilliant repping from you all.

The average time for all Vegan Runners this week was 29:46 – another sub-30!
