Edinburgh marathon – Caz Lyall

I ran my first road race yesterday: the Edinburgh Marathon. Training had initially gone well but I had a bad knee injury that stopped me running for 8 weeks. I began running again 3 weeks before the race, so was pleased with my finishing time of 3.33. I came 1065th out of just under 15,000 runners and was 10th in my category of Women 45-49. It was great running with lots of other people, given that I usually find road running a bit dull. I’m planning to do the Loch Ness Marathon in September, so fingers crossed for an injury free summer!

Wow – a fantastic result after that interrupted training – well done Caz!
