Parkrun Takeover (over 100 VRs, plus volunteers in 2017)

VRUK Big Breakfast/brunch

Afternoon
Screening of “Run for Good”, film about VRUK’s Fiona Oakes, directed by Keegan Kahn (“Cowspiracy” and “What the Health”).
Talk with Fiona – we are hoping to also have Keegan present.
*Discounts offered to VRUK in most vegan outlets in the city’s ‘Vegan Quarter’, probably a discount voucher card in your race pack. Zip wire, i360, air-hockey on the pier, xmas lights, Royal Palace, general mooching and munching, maps available (SAE to: 4 Lynden Court, Brighton, BN1 6SU)
Evening
Social with self-serve wholesome food buffet and music at Cowley Club, Brighton’s oldest all-vegan social club (as per 2017)
SUNDAY
18TH NOVEMBER 2018
YHA are setting aside a dorm room for VRUK to leave bags in, and to shower in after the race. (Normal checkout is 10am)
Race
8.00am
VRUK Race-base opens at Concorde2 Club (Brighton’s #1 live music venue) which is 300m from the start/finish line on Madeira Drive.
Kit etc can be left here.
Spectators can watch from here.
Greek Vegan catering van will be available.
9.30am
Race start.
Flat course, out towards Hove, past The Grand Hotel, returning along the iconic prom, again past The Grand Hotel, back into Madeira Drive, past Concorde2 Club (masses of cheering VR support), 180 degree final turn, into the final 800metres, passing Concorde2 again.
VR’s own George P will have his Greek Vegan catering van on hand.
VR pace groups for 45 mins – 1 hour.
Post-race refreshments and bar. Music. Awards presentation (expect lots of PBs, and great things from our VR teams!!)

Race-base closes.
Brighton Vegan Festival
This event runs from about 11am (at The Grand Hotel – approx. 10 min walk from Race-base), organised by VRUK member (and former Chairperson) Kerri Turner.
What a nice way to end your weekend in Brighton – and to support Kerri’s animal sanctuary charity – Farplace.
Vegan Runners will have a stall at the festival.
