DESCRIPTION:FRIDAY\n16TH NOVEMBER 2018 \nYHA is open for baggage storage ALL day\, check-in from 2pm. \nEvening\nAll-Vegan all you can eat buffet at Bombay Aloo\, £6.90.\n40 seats reserved upstairs. 30 more downstairs. \nSATURDAY\n17TH NOVEMBER 2018 \nYHA is open for baggage storage ALL day\, check-in from 2pm \nMorning\nParkrun Takeover (over 100 VRs\, plus volunteers in 2017)\n*Details to follow but may include veg powered chartered bus from YHA to parkrun and back \nVRUK Big Breakfast/brunch\n*Details TBC may be all under one roof… all 100+ of us! \nAfternoon\nScreening of “Run for Good”\, film about VRUK’s Fiona Oakes\, directed by Keegan Kahn (“Cowspiracy” and “What the Health”). \nTalk with Fiona – we are hoping to also have Keegan present. \n*Discounts offered to VRUK in most vegan outlets in the city’s ‘Vegan Quarter’\, probably a discount voucher card in your race pack. Zip wire\, i360\, air-hockey on the pier\, xmas lights\, Royal Palace\, general mooching and munching\, maps available (SAE to: 4 Lynden Court\, Brighton\, BN1 6SU) \nEvening\nSocial with self-serve wholesome food buffet and music at Cowley Club\, Brighton’s oldest all-vegan social club (as per 2017) \nSUNDAY\n18TH NOVEMBER 2018 \nYHA are setting aside a dorm room for VRUK to leave bags in\, and to shower in after the race. (Normal checkout is 10am) \nRace \n8.00am\nVRUK Race-base opens at Concorde2 Club (Brighton’s #1 live music venue) which is 300m from the start/finish line on Madeira Drive. \nKit etc can be left here. \nSpectators can watch from here. \nGreek Vegan catering van will be available. \n9.30am\nRace start.\nFlat course\, out towards Hove\, past The Grand Hotel\, returning along the iconic prom\, again past The Grand Hotel\, back into Madeira Drive\, past Concorde2 Club (masses of cheering VR support)\, 180 degree final turn\, into the final 800metres\, passing Concorde2 again. \nVR’s own George P will have his Greek Vegan catering van on hand. \nVR pace groups for 45 mins – 1 hour. \nPost-race refreshments and bar. Music. Awards presentation (expect lots of PBs\, and great things from our VR teams!!) \n12.00pm\nRace-base closes. \nBrighton Vegan Festival \nThis event runs from about 11am (at The Grand Hotel – approx. 10 min walk from Race-base)\, organised by VRUK member (and former Chairperson) Kerri Turner. \nWhat a nice way to end your weekend in Brighton – and to support Kerri’s animal sanctuary charity – Farplace. \nVegan Runners will have a stall at the festival. \nADMISSION TO THIS IS FREE for VRUK Brighton 10k medal holders!
