VRUK winner at Berwick Cross Country

Neil Ford races sparingly but when he competes he is there or thereabouts, challenging for a prize. Neil, essentially a fell runner reports on his success.

I thought I should let you know that I won the Berwick XC race on Sunday. Given that it was the first time I’ve been racing fit since my car crash in 1992 (Peter may recall the details of my endless efforts to regain health and fitness!), I was obviously very pleased at how it went. It was also the first chance I’ve had to wear my Vegan Runners vest, despite being a member of VC&AC and then Vegan Runners for about 7-8 years. For the record, my time was 27.42 over the four and bit miles course, with 136 runners.

Neil’s next event is the Scottish National cross country championships on 20 February where he will no doubt have more challenging opposition!
