Piotr Pacoriek wears the vegan runners top in Warsaw, Poland and is currently awaiting a further delivery of kit. I was wondering how he was coping, a week or so ago he reported it was -15C but was still keen to run!
Thanks for your concern. Indeed, it is really cold here, however the situation is not so tragic. There have been 45 cold weather casualties since October in Poland. Countries with the real cold problem are Ukraine, Romania & Bulgaria.
Anyway, my first half marathon will be at the end of this month, no matter what the weather is, I must stick to my working plan. Last Thursday’s training was the hardest I ever had. I had to run in -23C. I did 8 km (it was speed training). I did 11 km yesterday and 17 km today and the temperature was – 17C but sunny and no snow. It helped a lot. Please, find a picture attached so you can see how does it look like to run in such a weather. Overall, I feel really great, just trying to eat as healthy as possible, drinking lots of tea with lemon as well as green tea.
