Well done Tim Williams completing the Colworth Marathon 3 day challenge over a too hot 3 days:
‘I ran the Colworth marathon challenge this weekend – 5 miles Friday, 8 mile trail race Saturday and half-marathon today.
Completed in times of 42 mins, 1 hr 13m and 1h 58m. 8 mile trail was rough going as very uneven underfoot.
Delighted to sneak in under two hours for the half given the heat and cross country nature of the course!’
Meanwhile Rafal Tkaczyk was having a tough day at the challenging Trail Marathon Wales:
‘Completed Trail Marathon Wales today. It was really brutal. I run the half marathon last year so I kinda knew what to expect but I guess I got everything wrong. Pacing, wrong shoes, not enough drinking and well should have done more core training as my back hurt after 30 something kilometres. The course was beautiful: forest trails, stony paths, single track, sharp descents, waterfalls, mountain brooks etc. Anyway, finished in 4 hours 25 minutes or something like that( as usually I forgot to stop my garmin). A little bit disappointed but I’ll be back next year. Last few kilometres was a real struggle. 7 minutes per k running downhill was the best I could get when my legs refused to cooperate.’
