Ed: This Sunday, 3 April, there is the Sussex Beacon Marathon at Bexhill where Maria Hamilton and Cherryl Sinclair are entered. Cherryl is running her first marathon and is hoping just to get to the finish line like many runners after recent problems. For Maria it is just another training run after many recent marathons as preparation for the Comrades 56 miles at the end of May.
On 10 April, there is the Brighton Marathon where we have four runners: Jane Gant, Kate, Sam Wilson and Paul Stimpson. Jane’s training appears to have gone well going by Facebook messages. Kate is running her first marathon and is raising funds for the Vegan Society. Sam as previously mentioned is running for the National Cat Adoption Centre. Paul recently joined and assume his training has gone well.
Finally, the London Marathon where unfortunately we report some withdrawals with Chris Taylor-Reed injured and Annette Herold having missed a lot of training is not fit enough for a marathon. Alison Taylor-Reed is running and raising funds to care for a severely disabled cat, Bubbles based at Foal Farm as previously reported. Joe Harling has been running monthly marathons in the tough Endurance Life Series so London may well be an easier run for Joe. Similarly for Anna Finn who has been continuing her tough schedule of marathons and ultra distance marathons.
