First time this event held. Aiming primarily at beginners,i came on invite. 2 laps multi-terrain undulating course around Southampton Sports centre, starting at base of ski slope, going around cricket and football pitches through woodland and circumnavigating a boating lake. Just right aggregate of up/down. Very well marshalled, a free event with a goodie bag cannot be bad. For all the effort and enthusiasm of organisers only downside was lack of runners on day = 42 at start.
Arrived too late for warm up,so change and on to startline.Being more of a fun run, decided to moderately pace myself not go full out from start, stay unstressed and enjoy, came in 4th with a time of 18mins 41secs on a course that had to be shortened at last minute,one garmin reading gave a distance of 4.4k. Highlight of the day was an American when seeing my vest asked me if Vegan was a town near Southampton.
