London Regent's Park Training Session, 3 November

Report and photo by Peter Simpson

My first run for about two months overcoming foot problems, it appeared to go well without any reactions. Shelley just made it before the photo. It was a windy and rather cold day in the exposed park, first visiting Primrose Hill briefly, heading for the summit, thereafter we found some shelter on the canal for a change of scenery. David and Shelley ran ahead together feeling confident and we re-grouped as necessary. We resumed the normal route via the track for a few laps where I continued to take it cautiously, the last of us to complete. We went back into Regent’s Park and headed for the lake at the southern end into the wind and along to the long straight path for intervals up to the monument. I was a little concerned about pushing myself too hard but appear to feel more comfortable running short quick intervals helped with the wind behind us.
The next London meet-up for a potential training session will coincide with the Animal Aid Christmas Fair on 8 Dec, location will be Kensington Gardens via venue at Kensington Town Hall. The fair opens at 10am with the VRUK stall in the basement area where you can leave bags. Peter will be covering the stall as normal.
