Never mind the cup, anything for a quick getaway! We hear from SDL…
Getting a lift to an event it was not possible to get to on time on a Sunday morning by public transport from other Soton AC members, obliged to wear my other club vest at this one, which being a new vest I have not had a chance to write Vegan runner on yet with a textile pen.
Fordingbridge Firestation (New Forest) 10K Sunday May 2nd. An undulating course along rural roads. Mile markers instead of Kilometer markers. Getting to 5 miles at 32:40 meant a sub 40 mins 10k was on but the finish was in a bit of a blindspot causing me to slow for a few seconds as I was uncertain how far left, speeding up again on seeing the finish line but the lost seconds proved fatal finishing in 40:02, however still a new PB and got given a cup for 1st MV 50 as soon as I crossed the line. Which saved the normal circa 1 hour wait there is for the awards at running events.
