A fine comeback after injury for Simon Dally last Saturday, Simon reports:
‘I ran the Horwich 5k today in 18:56 or thereabouts. Bit of a last minute decision to enter. I haven’t run at anything like that pace for over 3 months due to injury, so just glad to be running again, hopefully with the injury behind me. Won the 1st male vet 45 prize in a small field. Next up, Horwich 5 mile race on Wednesday.’
A sore disappointment for Peter Simpson and Laura Conway on Sunday though – if the omnivores like vegan cake so much then I can’t see what’s stopping them changing their ways!
‘Huntingdon Charity 10K from Alconbury airfield – after cycling about 35 miles (one way) I arrived too late for the vegan cakes sold by Sanctuary Angels. Sixty cakes all sold before the start and the runners did not know they were vegan! Even Laura missed out. After the run (or my cycle) there was at least vegan tomato pasta taster from Cook Italian, the sponsors.’
Nothing to do with Horwich or Huntingdon (or cake) but here is a picture of Phil trying out our brand new club banners 🙂
