We hear from Joe Harling running his 2nd 20 mile race in as many weeks:
“Did the Gloucester 20 today in 2hrs 50mins & 21 secs and was 190/444 and was 6th vet55 out of 20 which I was quite pleased with.
It was a very warm sunny day. Undulating route and inc 3 laps of a 5.5 middle section.
Quiet countryside lanes, well marshalled and friendly low key event. The sort of old style race run by a running club for club runners and those training for the London Marathon.
Excellent technical t shirt without loads of sponsors names plastered all over spoiling it, which made a nice change.”
Meanwhile Alexandra Portwine was passing the time running round and round an airfield:
“Ran the Spring Shakespeare Marathon yesterday…met some lovely people and chatted pretty much the whole way, which made me slow, but made the eight and a bit loops of the airfield more tolerable (a v. boring setting)! Well organised, but to summarise in three words: ‘flat but dull’!”
