Sunny if a bit hot for Verna Burgess at the Wheathamstead trail 10k last weekend:
‘I completed this for the first time in glorious sunshine today. Probably too hot as several runners fell by the wayside or received attention at the race end. I stayed upright however and finished in 45.59. Not a PB but this is an off road course and part of my 1st claim club off road champs. This meant I had to wear TRC vest. Final position was 7/284 ladies and 81/682 overall.’
Meanwhile a good run for Yasmin Inglis but not so good for Peter Simpson at the Pitsford Water 10k, Peter reports:
‘Pitsford Water 10K, Northants, 18/5/14 – a low-key trail event around the shore-line. Originally a full circuit plus but due to works, the course was changed to an out and back. A welcome breeze off the water. Unfortunately I suffered one of my familiar calf strains so walked from 6K. Yasmin and partner Ben completed the course, results to follow. No chip timing.’
