We hear from member Ian Moran, well done both – sounds like proper prizes for a change 🙂
‘Me and another new member, Kate Lewis, completed the Longridge Xmas Pudding 7 miler on Sunday 08/12/2013. I had my new vest on!! It was a tough run, with a long uphill section, Longridge Fell I think. Popular with the road cyclists. 58.49 for me and 1.08.16 for Kate. Vegan (accidentally,I assume) puddings as prizes.’
Jon Randall meanwhile achieved a time and placing many of us can only dream of at the Wormwood parkrun:
‘Got second place in Wormwood parkrun this morning. 19:23, #2/50. Bit disappointed as I was out in front for the first 3km and had the opportunity to come first (since there weren’t any super fast runners there) but faded and lost it by 6 seconds! Maybe another day…’
Noel Grimley placed 3rd in his category at what sounds like an exceptionally challenging offering from the Coastal Trail Series:
‘Did the CTS Dorset Marathon today on the Jurassic coast. 27.5miles and 5000ft ascent. It really was Brutal and finished in around 5 1/2 hrs. Stunning location but very tough and very relieved to see the finish : )’
Matt Toy’s appeal for vegan runners to complete a team of 8 targeting the Endure 24 trail relay event next June was successful so reserve list only now – it’s the same weekend as the Welsh Vegan 3000s so consider joining us there and lets hope for fine weather all round for the plant powered!
Finally if you want some inspiration have a look at this brilliant video of fellow Polish vegan and vegetarian runners forming 2 teams for a 12 hour relay race in a salt mine. Thanks for posting this Rafal 🙂
