The Brighton VegfestUK is know less than a fortnight away and VRUK will be returning with our stall in the same location as last year on the ground floor. For details of the event please visit www.brighton.vegfest.co.uk .
Prior to the opening of the show on Saturday, 16 March at 11am, our local group, Brighton Vegan Runners are encouraging members and contacts to attend the Hove Park Run at 9am for the free 5K run. Dave Arnold our local contact will be there and can be contacted on email@example.com or 07557954836. If you are not registered with Parkrun please visit http://www.parkrun.org.uk/brighton/home to obtain a barcode, print off and take along on the day to record your time at the finish. We obviously encourage all vegans with our kit to wear it on the day. It is also an opportunity to give some publicity for the Brighton VegfestUK. You can still obtain some literature from VegfestUK and distribute it at the Parkrun or elsewhere, especially if you are in the region of the show.
VRUK welcomes assistance from volunteers on our stall if only for an hour or two, allowing the regulars a break. Peter will be setting up the stall hence will not be at the Parkrun. A few members have already informed me of their availability including Dave Arnold, Sam Wilson, Paul Loader, Paula Blackledge and possibly Fiona Oakes. I now need to put together a schedule of volunteers so, it would be useful to know which day(s) and approximate times you are available? The peak times and lunch breaks are the times when we ideally need more volunteers i.e. 12 – 3pm each day.
We look forward to meeting many of the members, contacts from previous shows and establishing contact with many more people. Our stall will have the usual kit including club jackets and information otherwise we are in the process of stocking some vegan sports nutrition books. We also have a collections licence for Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary on the Saturday and will have literature on the sanctuary.
At present the host server for our website is off-line otherwise no further information is available, this affects all veggie / vegan websites setup via Activeg. Hopefully it will be back soon otherwise I am trying to obtain information from Activeg. Meanwhile we do have our blog http:/veganrunnersuk.blogspot.co.uk and Facebook group UK Vegan Runners.
