A good day out for Verna Burgess at the ITU World Series London event last weekend:
‘I have spent a very long day at ITU World Series doing the open sprint triathlon at Hyde Park, London. I was wearing Hillingdon Triathlon Club kit but wandered around afterwards in VRUK vest. As a consequence I got ambushed by a veggie physio wanting to know wear to eat in London – sent him to Neals Yard or Manna (love it) near Chalk Farm. I also got a lengthy and apologetic explanation as to why the soya/protein recovery drink “Everything but the cow” has honey in it – they say their next new flavour will be vegan though.
Anyhow I had a great race and did everything on target. Overall 407/1850. 48/440 female and 3rd in age cat and 1st in run split for age cat. I am happy with that result.’
