On Sunday I was at Faversham for their annual 10K road race. Fifth time for me.
This is a nice autumnal run around the quite roads south of Faversham. The weather was bright and pleasant, despite Saturday’s cold, blustery and wet weather. The run went quite well, with the kilometre marks seeming to pass surprisingly quickly for me. However, a persistent niggle in my left knee, which seems related to a thrombosis I had at the end of January, became quite inflamed towards the end of the race. A long and steep decline, which I normally use to my advantage, was very jarring on my knee this time.
Result: Chip Time- 52:31 [course pb- 51:30 in 2011]. 193/353.
In a few weeks I will join the male 60s. In March I will celebrate 25 years of regular running. We keep on doing what we do, eventually we become too old to change!
