Great to hear that our members successfully ran the Sheffield Half last weekend despite the organisers attempt to cancel at the last minute when the drinking water didn’t show up, well done to Joeseph Mallam on his PB:
“I ran the “cancelled” Sheffield half marathon on Sunday (and got a new pb of 1:55:47!) – was great to hear plenty of ‘vegan cheers’ from spectators and I noticed that another vegan runner ran, although I didn’t get her name. Looking forward to running some parkrun 5ks in the near future and so hopefully I’ll meet some of the other Sheffield runners.”
I suspect the other Vegan Runner was Luisa Rabanal listed in the results with a time of 1:53:15
Dave Arnold reports on a strong (except maybe the odd tummy) vegan turnout at Hove Park parkrun in Brighton yesterday:
“Hove Park (BRIGHTON) Parkrun. A good turnout of 8 VR’ (1 speculating through injury, 1 pulled up with tummy trouble, 1 threw up ….a good cross section!!) who were then joined for food by another vegan who’d only just realised we were a club …and she couldn’t resist Paula’s cheesecake. Welcome Delilah! Also a second ‘not heard of the club’ vegan who unfortunately couldn’t join us for the post race food this time (dashing off to a cricket match, having PB’d at a shade over 21 minutes, well done Polly!)
Good to see Kevin Harris, Nick Balding, Roz (great chocolate cake!), Chris , Paula, Astrid (3rd in the mini-mile last week) and Lana.”
Well done all!
