A category win for young Dave Arnold at the Selsey 10k this weekend, nice one Dave!
“Whoop whoop me! Selsey 10k. 41:02 but good enough to sneak first in age-group.(32nd O/A) At the prize giving the Race Director openly queried if I was really in that category and then attributed it to a vegan diet!
I hope everyone else has had a good weekend of sport and happiness! Dave/…”
Nick Blackwell reports back from a fine day at the Colchester Half:
“Took part in the Colchester Half today – and what a lovely day it was – my first actual half marathon event (despite having done fulls before :-s) and was really pleased with 1hr 51m. The support and encouragement was probably the best I’ve experienced yet in a run event. The course was about 50-60% picturesque rural lanes, and not TOO hilly although there were a couple. Easily the busiest event yet for me too with over 2000 of us running, which created a great atmos. Happy days :)”
Meanwhile Mike Tomkins was discovering the joy of a trail race on a sunny day:
“Took part in my first organised trail race over 10km at the lovely Wyre Forest in Worcestershire today, slowest 10km time I’ve ever got (just under 45 minutes) but definitely the toughest, some really steep hills and a lot of mud in places, thank god for the recent dry weather! A most enjoyable but tough run. Would definitely be interested in more trail running in the future :)”
