We hear from SDL who has not (despite first impressions) been cavorting about in a wetsuit. Not with those times, anyway! He says….
Decent surfing weather but not jolly boating weather.
Saturday April 3rd.
I took part in the Bournemouth East Cliff Rotary Easter quarter marathon. Loads of surfers testing the waves as the first 2 miles were run along the seafront with a stiff cross wind. Turning off the sea front and winding our way back along suburban roads and dropping back on to the seafront for the last 400 metres to finish.
Continuing my attempt to run same course faster than last year I was only 8 seconds slower, so call that one a draw.

Feeling OK went up to Dorney Lake on Sunday, that’s the Eton College Rowing lake, which will be used for the 2012 Olympics. On a good day its a fast flat pb course around the lake, unfortunately Sunday was not jolly boating weather and a strong headwind for part of the run was a serious hindrance.
There was a choice of 10k and 5k so having run just 24 hours earlier I opted for the 5k.
