RNLI Portsmouth 10k Sunday October 5th.

Nice sunny day and flat course, if only had been on form to take advantage of the situation. Change and leave baggage in lifeboat station , central area left clear unless launch required. At start line fortunately realised while standing gossiping that I had forgot to put chip on with a couple of minutes to spare.

Lack of speed training leading up to event and  was experiencing a laboured start, at 1k in just about 4mins. From about 1.5k we were on the seafront and running along the same route as the final few miles of the BUPA Great South which is taking place on Sunday October 25th, (live on the tele),the good news: places still available at time of writing : the bad news entry fee £41.

With each passing kilometre slipped further away from 4 minute per k target but occupied more or less same position from about 3k until 9k, amazing how you often get so little positional change activity. Crossing finish line in mediocre forty two and half. Hopefully get another couple of chances over this distance before end of year.
