I competed in the first race in the Yateley 10K Road Race Series last night. It’s a series of 3 midweek evening races over the summer put on by Sandhurst Joggers. And it’s a really friendly event… I got chatting with a few lovely people at the start and finish. I had run it just once last year, but couldn’t remember much about the course, so this was a “test run”, and hopefully over the next two races I’ll be able to take advantage of knowing where the hills come in and pace accordingly (the first 3km and the last 1.5km are uphill…yikes!).
I finished just 16 seconds outside my recently set PB – finished in 00:46:20; position 186/653; female 20/219; age 35-44 8/85
I have set myself a goal of finishing a 10K race in under 46 minutes this summer…nearly made it!
