Prestwood 10K & no breakdown

Two world records in successive months with one final effort to go before Anna can take a rest for the summer at least.

For me personally, I just wanted to get through an event without the ankle injury returning. Had only returned to training in the past week apart from walks. Getting to the venue required some effort, in fact a tough hour’s cycle into the wind was one of the legs. Arriving early and the 11am start allowed recovery. The first 4K was relatively easy, mostly downhill and any wind behind us. There followed a steep uphill section but having taken it cautiously, I was ready for it. Entering the village we were greeted by the locals and the rest of the course was mostly flat and around the residential streets. I picked up pace here and overtook many to surprisingly finish well without injury returning. Unfortunately the results did not give age category positions apart from the winners.
