Portsmouth Joggers Club Summer Cross country run

We hear from the evergreen SDL who’s being baked like the rest of us…

The Portsmouth Joggers Club  Summer Cross country run. Queen Elizebeth Country Park,  5 1/2 miles up and down hills, mainly along chalk paths which made some of the down hill sections a bit hairy with all the loose sharp chalk morraine, a fall would mean serious damage no doubt. Weather conditions HOT.
Dave Arnold(Injured Vegan Runner) was in attendence with camera (await all action shots)and offering encouragement. Which on this occassion i definately needed. I was lying in about 20th place until  my chest started playing up, so for the last half of the run i was trying to clear the phlegm away from my lungs to maintain oxygen intake but it was a lost cause so i envitably slowed to finish 30th overall in 36 mins 06 secs. The only vet classification was over 40.
