North Dorset, Three Forts, Pendor and more

Well done to Catherine Hansford for completing her first marathon, Catherine says:

“North Dorset Villages Marathon. Was a very warm day, tough course but I managed a 4:29 on my first outing! Had a great crew from Yeovil Town Road Running Club driving around with personal drinks and food as well as a lot of cheering and shouting and in between them my husband drove to random parts of the course to cheer me on. At the finishing line I was greeted by “GO MUMMY GO!” from Riley and cheers from my family. What a great day!”

A PB for Verna Burgess at the Pednor 5 on 5th May:

“This is a great local race in Herts and a lovely way to round off a Bank Holiday week end – run at 7pm and so it was perfect race conditions. I last did it in 2008 and so was pleased to beat my time and actual post a 5m PB. So 9th lady/72 and time of 35.11.”

In further Bank Hol action Chris Caps finished the Whitstable 10k in 43:27 and Nik Windle the Chalgrove Festival 10k in 52:16. You’ll find reports on the Milton Keynes Marathon and the variety of Halfs members have competed in over the Bank Hol weekend in other blogs. Fantastic achievement by Claire Abbey who completed the Thames Path 100 miler.
