Helen Fines manages to overcome tiredness and sunburn to race to victory!
My second outing in the VRUK vest was the Mynydd Troed fell race in South Wales. This is a 7m race with 2700 feet of ascent. Having been racing through snow in the Mourne Mountains last weekend, this week involved sunburn- it must be summer now! I ran 3 minutes slower than last year’s time, but luckily so did everyone else, and I managed to win although I was a bit tired from helping a friend with his South Wales Traverse the previous day. Instead of prizes, the organiser asks the male and female winner to nominate a charity, and the race profits are split, so Greyhound Rescue West of England have received a small sum.
[The Editor has two greyhounds and thinks this is a fine choice :D]
