Craig Wallace reports back on a too windy day in the Cairngorms:
“Done the Meall a’ Bhuachaille hill race on Saturday – in the Cairngorms near Aviemore. The route was changed, as too windy to go along the ridge. So instead went up one hill, then back to the start, then up the other hill, which made it a longer run. And still extremely windy on the summits, apparently over 60mph in places, so difficult to stand up and run anywhere. Probably the windiest race I’ve ever done.
Time 1:59:19, position 52/90. Distance of 17.4km, about 800m ascent.”
