Peter Simpson is planning to lead the Regent’s Park training session and has passed the following message onto London area members & contacts:
Our London training session returns to Regent’s Park on 9 September but due to the recently tragic loss of member Andrew Spencer Taylor, it will be held in his memory. Meet 10.30am upstairs in The Hub cafe, there are changing facilities downstairs. The session normally lasts approximately an hour from when we start and is likely to include: group running, intervals of 2 or 3 minutes or loops, hills and track circuits. Re-grouping will take place. Allow extra time to reach the venue from the nearest public transport. Following the session we will meet back at The Hub café for a drink and social. If you are intending to take part please inform Peter in advance on this e-mail address by Friday, 7 September.
Andrew was only aged 27 but was well known in a positive way in many activities. I recall the adverts for his green radio programs arranged on a regular basis. On the running scene he focused more on the extreme events, climbing the fells and highest peaks and in darkness. He became active with VRUK in 2008 and ran a few events of 10K distance in London / Surrey and may have run other events not recorded. I recall that he was listed as entered for a marathon in France that other friends / members closer to Andrew may know if he completed. Andrew did have a break from membership in 2011 and rejoined this year. I was going to encourage Andrew to try the cross country championships again with events held in London on Hampstead Heath in the winter. Obviously he had a lot more to offer and achieve but cut short…

Hope to see many of you at The Hub.
