Third category place for Verna Burgess and a PB for Tim Williams at the Kimbolton Half last weekend.

Verna:

‘A nice day out at the Kimbolton Half Marathon today – eventually as it was torrential rain at 9.30am with lots of huddling around the tents and shelters.

This is well organised by Nicetri events and in the superb grounds of Kimbolton School. I was also familiar with the route as it is 90% the bike course on the triathlon I do there each year. Quiet country roads with a couple of hills.

I put in a solid performance but a little off PB pace. Finished 104/435 overall, 11/155 female, 3rd FV45 and time of 1.38.24.

As running away from home proud to be in VRUK vest.’

Tim:

‘Good running Verna. I also ran it today, saw you just before the start but didn’t have time to say hello before the race started. I really enjoyed the race and got a PB of 1.49.47 – well chuffed!

….. I was hoping to catch you at the finish but forgot how fast you were!’
