Hornsea one third marathon

—Malcolm Peet reports—–

Yesterday was the Hornsea one third marathon (East Yorkshire coast).

It is a nice course, relatively flat (but then I live in hilly

Sheffield) on country lanes with the traffic well controlled, and on a

lovely sunny but cool day. A small field – only 338 starters – made

this the kind of race that I like. Having been nursing a sprained

calf, I managed 78.28, position 253. Not too bad though for a 68 year

old! I recommend this race; several people were doing it for speed

training before the London Marathon.

— well done Malcolm – you’ll have to compare notes with Sid who has

done several 1/4 marathons!
