Ghosting his way back to competition – Dave A!

Ed: Dave Arnold has had a busy period attempting to establish with the assistance of Rachel White, a Brighton VRs local group and at the same time build up his confidence for a return to competition, if indeed that was the plan!

Last night (2 Aug) I did Portsmouth Triathletes Stroke and Stride Aquathon, coming 6th (with a supposed 5k on beach and tracks of 22:17) …. swimming still sucks!!

Tonight I popped to the Portsmouth 5k (last couple of weeks I’d ghosted the Hove Park ParkRun anonimously in around 22mins) and was very surprised when I did 19:44 tonight!! Sid was there but had to pull out and we think that I just beat his seasons best of this course by about 3 seconds. Best of all I beat a few of my carcus crunching friends from local club…yey!

At the Aquathon VR new girl Sandra Hopkins won the female race …and the prize… a box of (non-vegan) chocs. Shame because the organisers did make an effort by abandoning BBQ for baked potatoes and beans! Think next year I’ll donate the Choc prizes!!! (And provide vegan cheese!!)
