SUMMARY:"Walk with Bronwyn" - Brooklands parkrun
DESCRIPTION:Hi Everyone\, \nJoin us for a parkrun meet-up and picnic at Brooklands in Surrey this Saturday to meet all your friends in the region and walk with Bronwyn Broccoli. \n•	Who’s Bronwyn (They/them)? They are our unofficial South East England region mascot and have been “running” with several of our members over the past few months. You can follow their journey on Strava https://www.strava.com/athletes/114518392 and maybe even be one of their “pairs of shoes” yourself 😊 \n•	Why are we walking? Bronwyn loves to be surrounded by vegans (despite most of them liking to eat broccoli)\, most of us love to be surrounded by vegans\, so if we all walk together then we’ll have opportunities to chat and enjoy each other’s company even more. And while some park runners might miss a few of us spread out in the event – they can’t miss a big group of us as they come around on the second lap 😃  \n•	What about my stats? Ok\, so we know some of you love to go for a PB every week -and Brooklands is very flat! – so why not go ahead and get your token\, then come back and join us for a cool down (just don’t go through the funnel twice). \n•	What about this picnic? What better way to continue the conversations than over a picnic blanket with your new and old friends. Bring enough food and drink for yourself\, or if you feel ambitious make something to share too. One of Brookland’s RDs is even making some vegan cupcakes to welcome us. There is a picnic area behind the coffee van and lovely weather has been ordered 😉 \n•	How do I get to Brooklands? By train – Weybridge\, Byfleet & New Haw\, and West Byfleet stations are all close by with access from London\, by road we’re not far from M25 junction 10 – just an hour’s drive from most places in the region and London – ask in your local WhatsApp groups about car sharing or offering to drive others or get in touch with me and I’ll try to help. \n•	When is the group photo? SUMMARY:**POSTPONED** Reigate Parkrun & Brunch
DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately Reigate parkrun has been cancelled due to weather conditions. 😢 \nTherefore Reigate parkrun and Brunch will be rescheduled for February when hopefully there won’t be a train strike or poor weather conditions. 🤞🏻 \nStay safe everyone on your local parkruns if you venture out. \nNB\, January will have a parkrun meetup in Worthing\, details to come. \nRegards\,\nDarren \nBeautiful parkrun and wide selection of vegan brunch options\, last big meet-up of the year! \nDecember already and this will be the last “region wide” meet-up of the year. This should prove a nice opportunity to meet friends from further afield before Christmas kicks in fully. Afterwards I propose brunch at the Corzo Lounge on Reigate Highstreet just ½ a mile away. While not a vegan establishment\, they do have extensive offerings on their vegan menu (group booking required\, see below for details). \nReigate Priory parkrun is held in Priory Park very close to Reigate town centre and is two scenic laps\, a mixture of footpath and grass.  \nVegan Runners currently had 25 parkrunners at Reigate Priory\, another 25 will place us in the top 9 clubs by parkrunners. Fastest male time is held by Mark Revell-Wright in 20:55\, female time is held by Lin Lascelles in 22:41\, and by age grade Lin and Martin Lascelles both hold top spots with 78.77% and 77.29% respectively. Alma Botes is our local expert having completed a very impressive 113 events (out of her 319 total parkruns)! \nPhotos \nIf people could plan to arrive around 08:30\, there’s always lots of general chat and hi’s. Will aim for a group photo at 08:45 before the parkrun briefing starts.\nAnyone who’s not running\, walking\, or otherwise volunteering – I encourage you to come along and take lots of pics of our runners and share with me after. \nGetting there – be green\, walk\, ride\, use public transport\, or car share where possible \n***** Train strike planned for this day *****\nThe start is less than a mile to walk from Reigate train station with connections to London\, Brighton\, and Tonbridge via Redhill and Guildford direct.
