Entries for Cross Country Champs

Entries for the cross country champs are traditionally administered by a team manager or secretary within each club so, Peter Simpson will be entering members who will be representing VRUK, 2nd claim members will need to contact the club who registered them with their home country.

I am writing to you at this time as the closing date for the South of England Champs is 16 December so if you have previously indicated your interest in these champs, I shall need your entry fee no later than Monday, 12 December. The entry fee is £6 and you can pay direct to our Co-op Bank account with sort code 08-92-99, account number 65419869 and quote some indentifcation. Also send an e-mail to veganrunners@talktalk.net . Alternatively a cheque payable to ‘Vegan Runners UK’ and posted to

13 Peers Lane,
Shenley Church End,
Milton Keynes MK5 6BG

The English National Champs are held in London this year, close to many of our members so, it is a good opportunity for team entries or a significant presence. The entry fee is £6 and the closing date is 4 January so, it is important to receive your entry fees early no later than 29 December. Fees can also be sent to the above account.

If you are unsure which area champs you are qualified to run, get in contact with Peter Simpson. There are no qualifying standards for entry although it must be recognised that most of the area & national champs are senior events with no prizes for masters / veterans unless stated as masters champs.

Myself and Sid Delara are entered for the South of England Masters over-50 Champs, scheduled for 10 December at Lloyds Park, Croydon, Surrey.

For the Welsh National Champs, there are no further details at the moment other than date & location as given below.

The distances for men are normally 12K and women 8K, except for the South of England Champs where the men’s distance is traditionally 15K. Race numbers and chips are picked up on the day by a nominated team manager for each event. At the South of England event and the English National Champs, Peter Simpson is likely to be the team manager on the day.

It would obviously be useful publicity to have VRUK members in many of these champs.
