Fun seems to have been had by members of the Vegan Runners UK relay team at Endure 24 last weekend. Described by the organisers as ‘Glastonbury for runners (but with clean loos)’ this 24 hour trail event can be run by teams or solo. Matt Toy – who we thank for having the idea and making it happen – reports:
‘The Vegan Runners team completed their first Endure24. We did 28 very muddy laps (140 miles) and each ate roughly our own body weight in hummus, cookies, cake, brownies and Linda McCartney sausages. A great success! Can’t wait for next year!’
Unfortunately 2 of the original squad of 8 were unable to run but Hortencia McKechnie, Katie Sinclair, Tim Brown, Luisa Rabanal, Matt Toy & Phil Davies each completed 4 or 5 laps of the 5 miles course to clock-up a total of over 140 miles in 24 hours coming 73rd team of 125 in the 6 to 8 member team category.
It was very wet at times!
Which means rather muddy.
Tony Pitt, aka Karma the Cow, dropped by to say hello
The team all reckoned it was great fun and are looking forward to next year already – several of us are hoping to join them 🙂
