Concern over losing a Vegan Runner!

Reporting on the Moulton 10K, Northampton on 26 August, Bruce returned to local league action in the county road race league. The Moulton 10K also included the Northants County Champs and Bruce’s local club champs of Team Balancise. Bruce has been on good form since returning to racing early in July so could he get any better, indeed despite the ford, undulating course and finishing on a sports field, Bruce finishes 5th in a personal best of 36:15 and wins his local club champ. At the presentation it just got even better when he was announced as the Northants Senior Men’s title winner.

Before the race Bruce had arrived in his Vegan Runners vest which was of some concern to his local club runners and after the presentation switched to the Vegan Runners vest for a photo. It was at that point that members of Team Balancise made their concerns known that maybe VRUK had a plan to sign-up their prize winner. Not just yet however Bruce plans to run the Bedford 10K on September wearing the vegan runners vest if not for VRUK.

Looking ahead to other activities, Bruce is one of the organisers of the Northants Vegan Free Food Fayre on 11 November, arranged to coincide with the national date but in this case to remember the animals who die in wars, etc. Bruce has also encouraged VRUK to run a stall, kindly sponsored by Bruce. The venue is Pine Tree Farm, London Road, Wellingborough NN8 2EH alternatively visit Animals in Need or on Facebook visit NorthantFreeVeganFoodAndCrueltyFreeFair.
