Members have been out enjoying the winter sunshine over the weekend – well done all!
Judith Oakley reports:
‘Ran the Buff Winter Trail Wales half marathon yesterday – was 3rd in category and 19th woman overall – chip time = 2-11-54 🙂 ‘
Christopher Caps also putting in an impresive performance:
‘Ran the Canterbury 10 this morning. Pretty lovely conditions and I felt good. Even battling a bit of a cough/cold I managed my best 10 mile time in a long while – 1:11:20. Bring on the Amsterdam marathon in October! By the way, the Canterbury 10 will be changing location next year so, if you’ve ever been tempted, might be worth checking the new course.’
Jo Brown is fast returning to form after injuries last year:
‘I ran the Broadlands 5 mile race in Romsey this morning. It was freezing, I can never seem to layer up right at the moment, but did it in 46 minutes which is good for me at the moment! Then I have another two 10km in the next 3 weeks, waiting for pay day to plan from mid Feb onwards….’
Nina Nickerson demonstrated vegan persistance even when it stops being fun:
‘Hi I ran the Freethorpe 10 this morning, my first race as a vegan runner! It was the first race I have wanted to pull out off, but struggled round in 1:20:29 🙂 ‘
We’ll be hearing about VRUK at the South England Regional Cross Country Championships later this week 🙂
