Phil Davies enjoyed a fine day out at a traditional fell race:

‘Each village around here has an annual fell race to the top of the nearest hill and back, many of them held at the village show/gala. Me and daughter Sasha (plus bear) had a go at the Bradley Show Fell Race on Sunday since it’s walking distance from home, in the grown-up and under-9s categories. The senior route is 3.8 miles and 900ft ascent, start and finish in the middle of the show so there’s a good crowd to cheer everyone. Sunny weather and great views from the top, if you can look up from where you’re putting your feet for a moment. £1 to enter including goody bags for kids! A great little event.’
