Report by Peter Simpson:
Following Anna’s Abingdon Marathon, she allowed herself the luxury of two weekends off running marathons! Anna’s returned on 7 Nov for the Marriott’s Way 36 miles trail run in Norfolk that she ran a year ago. This time without distractions Anna completed the course in 5:42.
On 13 Nov Anna was letting her ‘hair down’ at the Greenwich Park 10K (part of the Movember 10K series), dressed up as ‘supergirl’, Anna brought along her students to take part.
The next day, 14 Nov it was back to normal for the Steppingley Step (LDWA) 26 miler multi-terrain in Bedfordshire. Anna complete the course in soggy conditions in 5:11.
The long trip north to the Newcastle Town Moor Marathon was Anna’s next target that she completed last year. This time she was 10 minutes faster, finishing in 4:16:44.
Following a further break from events over 27/28 Nov, Anna was forced to re-organise her event for 5 Dec. Given that cancellation of the Luton Marathon, there was a small event nearby, the Bletchley Enigma Marathon (part of a series). Anna ‘code-breaking’ achieved 4:14:33 and 2nd lady, overall 16/34.
Bringing readers up-to-date, on 12 Dec, Anna completed the Portsmouth Coastal Waterside Marathon in 4:05:25.
Anna has now completed 143 (marathons + ultra-marathons) with 58 to date completed in 2010 with further events on the track in Bournemouth on 18th and another on 27 Dec, the Breaston Beast. Anna is continuing to surge forward towards 200. Any bets that Anna will reach that milestone by 2012?
